Belize City.
Misertravel has toured all of Belize City, including the gang zones. Misertravel hired a guide from one of the neighborhoods and did all the national geographics and, can assure you there is nothing touristic here. If you staying in Belize City for a night on your way to Caye Caulker or any of the other islands where you should be, here is your quick tips.
Where to Stay in Belize City
You want to stay in this section on the map so you can make your quick dash to the San Pedro water taxi terminal to get to the islands. This is the safer area that the cruises comes through as well. The Belize Welcome Sign is a good reference point when booking your hotel. Misertravel stayed walking distance to the San Pedro Belize Water Taxi Terminal. The terminal is where misertravel hired the local guide and is where to get the best prices on souvenirs. Souvenirs cost alot more on the islands and are not of good quality on the islands. So if you don’t get any here, your next option is the airport when leaving.
If you keep walking, you will walk up past a short bridge called the “Swing bridge”. This is where you can get home cooked food that is sold here all night outside on the sidewalk. It’s usually the only thing open at night for food. It’s all local dishes of meats, rice beans, and soups.
