Vamos a Medellin.

Misertravel has toured nearly all the areas of Medellin, day and night, including the barrios, centro and has narrowed down the best area to stay and two most important tours within the city.

Where to Stay?

Misertravel preferred area to stay is the Poblado area, and within walking distance to Parque de El Poblado. The hotels are really reasonably priced even though this is the high end safer area. You can get a hotel room/suite that’s with cook to order or buffet breakfast in $40, 50, 60 per night price range in this area. The Medellin city tour bus leaves from Parque de El Poblado as well.

What to see?

The best tour in Medellin is riding the Medellin Metro Cable along with the train. It’s actually the cheapest tour as well. It feels like one big train and cable tour around Switzerland and the Swiss Alps.

Visit https://www.medellincolombia.co/getting-around/medellin-metro/. Save the map and plan your trip. If you are uncomfortable to do this tour alone, you can always inquire at your hotel reception or online to hire a guide to accompany you. Misertravel does this tour alone. All you need is basic Spanish to purchase your train /cable card. Just follow the crowds to get on and off the cable and trains. It’s really congested and police work throughout the system. Keep your valuables secure.

you can take the train and get off at the train station near Plaza Botero in Centro Medellin to see the top tourist area in the city and visit the museums. Don’t forget to check the museum schedule. The metro cable shuts down when there is thunder/lightning. If you find yourself in this situation, you might have to wait if you are in another part in Medellin that would take hours to get back to your hotel by taxi.

Getting around?

Misertravel has used every mode of public transportation in the city. Misertravel is a real fan of the yellow taxi’s of Medellin. They are fast, reliable and metered. For example The fare between Parque El Poblado to Centro/near Plaza Botero can be between 8000 to 15000 pesos depending on traffic.

If you spending more time in Medellin, the next best attraction is a day trip to Del Penol Guatape. Click on the image above for more info.
