San Pedro Belize.
where to stay?
Since this is an island only accessible by air and sea, reading reviews from actual customers where you plan on staying is your best and up to date advise. For ferry information from Belize City to San Pedro visit see the Caye Caulker page or visit https://belizewatertaxi.com/. The pricing for the PADI dive operators here are relatively cheap considering the dive site and duration of the dive excursions. The people are friendly and mostly straightforward. Misertravel don’t consider this island a tourist trap for this reason.
You can have a great time here, but be prepared to spend some ca$h. They accept U.S. dollars here and the conversion is really easy. They mostly give Belizean dollar change. Your the main event that every inhabitant has to make their money from here.
The one thing to be prepared for is when you get the necessary golf cart you need to get around the Island, they will explain the full tank of gas, insurance …and you check yes for all the above, that should revise your total cost to up to double the original total that you booked. But it’s in Belize currency so it’s half in U.S dollars and you might think it’s not much anyway. That’s what happened to misertravel. But be prepared for that.
Unlike Cauye Calker, San Pedro is a lot bigger, and really dusty. Misertravel prefers Cauye Calker. However, the best way to explain this is a family trip to Disney and nothing is included with admission to the park. Like paying to get on the rides. Misertravel had a great time here anyway.
